Los SUNDAYERS_ PROJECT_

Energy, party and attitude:

Reggae, rock, ska, swing, funk, latin… If you can dance to it, they will play it. The Sundayers have been producing this musical explosion since 2005. The result is a powerful brass section, solid percussion and drums, warm female vocals and attitude, lots of great attitude.

With 10 members, this Spanish band has carved out a niche in its own right within the Spanish reggae and ska scene. After releasing two albums, performing dozens of shows across entire Spain, and having played at open-air festivals while sharing stage with bands like Che Sudaka, Manu Chao, Eskorzo, Canteca de Macao, Alamedadosoulna, Jamaram etc., they have created a creative and unique show that is hard to forget once enjoyed. This, and countless awards, has allowed them to open borders, such as that of Germany, where they have enjoyed a great success in the recent tour that took place in the summer of 2012.

Upon return from the tour began the crowdfunding campaign (a.k.a. ‘collective financing‘) in order to permit the band to record their third album. The success was enormous, and thanks to the contributions of many people, the dream of a completely self-produced album funded directly by their fans, has come true.

In october the band began the recording of their third album, „Impulsos”, which has been published by Maldito Records in March 2013. With Ferni Duhalde (Bebe, Huecco, Alamedadosoulna…) as sound producer again they recorded ten songs fulls of energy, where the massive fusion of styles, consistence and strength of the songs rules. Rest assured that it will pleasantly surprise anyone that discovers them for the first time and the old fans alike.

Biography:

The new album is a new stage in the journey that began back in 2007, when they recorded their first album “Eterno Domingo”. It was recorded with somewhat precarious means, but allowed them to perform all around the country (Murcia, Alicante, Madrid, Almería, Barcelona, Cádiz, Bilbao …).

In late 2009 they began the recording of the second studio album of the band, “Cógelo!”, with the sound supervision of Ferni Duhalde, who came up with a very creative production. It consists of thirteen punchy and funky songs pulsating with the signature style of the band. In 2010 they released the album which received critical acclaim in both specialized websites and national magazines. The music video of the single “No nos pertenece” was selected for the campaign “Musicians for the Planet”, organized by WWF, and was frequently played in the mainstream radio stations in Spain. After an extensive tour of two years in over fifty festivals and venues in Spain the band expanded with the arrival of new members who brought more power and strength.

Right now they are on a new 2013 tour. It will bring them to venues and open-air festivals throughout Europe. Each show will become a true party with ten musicians irradiating energy and passion over the stage. This project finished in 2013 and the band broke up.
