Refugios is the name of a project born from a reflection on the behavior of human beings in a world vitiated by the capitalism of today’s society, its unlimited promotion of consumption, and the individualism it generates.

 

Under an ironic language, a photographic series is shown in which people are portrayed in a passive state, dejected by the objects around them, sheltered from an invisible threat, which invites us to think about the power of consumption in people and people in consumption.

 

The process is of performative character under previous premeditation and search inside the objects as a refuge.

 

In this same process of artistic research, apart from the photographic series, there is another aesthetic direction in the further development of the plastic-visual project.

 

A delicate, reflexive and elegant work about the forms of the material, in this case, cigarette paper left over from consumption, to build ideas and images. Drawings that go from a real format to a digital one, provoking an aesthetic movement.

 

In short, it is a visual art project with a diversity of techniques and materials that provide us with linguistic tools to communicate to the viewer in an increasingly digitized world. Where reality is diluted and new spaces of creation are generated.

Thus, it also reflects a human being who is protagonist and responsible in the spaces he visits.
